Srinagar, June 12: Sending gifts on “special occasions” will become more convenient and feasible in J&K now as first of its kind of mailing service- Expressions was launched at General Post Office (GPO), Srinagar Tuesday here.
Addressing media persons, Chief Post Master General, J&K Circle, John Samuels said that bouquets, cakes, flowers, chocolates, besides gift products of other varieties will be delivered through the innovative service to the selected persons on special occasions-birthdays and anniversaries.
“Even though the service is available elsewhere, but, for the first time, it is being started in J&K. In so doing, now any person can place an order with the GPO, Srinagar with the requisite details in advance. Once the process is done, the job of arranging and sending the gift to the recipient will be looked after by the post office here,” Samuels said.
With the monetary charges being set in the range of rupees 500 to 600, Samuels says along with GPO, Srinagar, the orders can be also booked at post offices at Jawahar Nagar and Lal Chowk areas in the city.
“We are here to provide the quality services, and are doing our best to provide quality service to our valued customers,” Samuels said.
In order to provide best quality saffron, apples and dry fruits to the customers outside the state, Samuels said that GPO, Srinagar has tied up with a reputed company “Amin Bin Khaliq” and the state Horticulture Department for delivering quality products to the customers across the world.
“Customers from India and outside will visit the E-post office website and book their orders through credit and debit cards for any of these products. Subsequently, the GPO, Srinagar will deliver the customers the product of their choice. Besides, it will also help the local business community in their dealings.
